Orvin and Anne Lutkehaus are the owners and hosts at "The Narrows" on Takla Lake, BC.
Takla Lake is the fifth largest natural lake in B.C. A deep fjord-like lake with the Mitchell Mountains to the east, the Driftwood River flowing in from the north and Middle River draining to the south. Takla is the terminus of the early Stuart-Takla sockeye salmon run from about mid July to Mid August. There are rainbow trout, dolly varden, lake trout, burbot and kokanee in the lake. The peninsula is the home of Mt. Blanchet Provincial Park.
This remote property had been abandoned for many years prior to our obtaining it. After several years, the buildings and property have seen major renovations and rebuilding.
We have three housekeeping cabins with toilet/shower house close by, you need only bring your own bedding and food. There are several camping sites for RVs, some are North facing and some West facing. They are very picturesque sites. We are a family friendly site.
"The Narrows" is a must to see and experience. There is great fishing and hunting - or just enjoying the great outdoors with spectacular mountains all around and a great sandy beach to laze the day away on. If you are a bit more adventurous, you can spend the day climbing Mt. Blanchet and enjoy the spectacular views of the lake from the top of the mountain.
We will do our utmost to make your stay a pleasureable experience.
Please come and see us to enjoy this wonderfully unique wilderness setting.
